"UPLIFT Florida Network Presents at Florida Blue Foundation 2022 Community Health Symposium and Saphhire Awards"

With more than 550 attendees, the Florida Blue Foundation held its 17th Annual Community Health Symposium and Sapphire Awards conference May 4–5, 2022. The theme of this year's Symposium was Big Issues in Health: A Focus on Health Equity.

"Restorative Cities"

Dr. Jenny Roe is a pioneer in restorative environments. This topic is exciting because the pandemic exacerbated mental health challenges for many. Dr. Roe recently presented to leaders in Sarasota County thanks to the Sarasota Downton Condominium Association. Attendees learned how we can actively improve our mental health and well-being by focusing on creating "Restorative Cities."We learned from Dr. Roe's evidence-based research that, done well, our built environments can have powerful positive impacts on mental health and well-being. "Suncoast Villages Unveils a New Name and a New Corporation"

Effective November 6, 2021, Suncoast Villages has a new name! After an intense brainstorming process – sharing, research, review, and more brainstorming – a new name was selected. A new Florida corporation, UPLIFT Florida Network, Inc. has been registered. The purpose of UPLIFT Florida Network remains the same: To improve the well-being of our community members via a network supporting individuals thriving in community. Read more here.

"It Takes a Village"

“It takes a village to raise a child” is an African proverb that means that an entire community of people must interact with children for them to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. The phrase and its intrinsic meaning demonstrate the collective approach necessary to bring about or achieve meaningful change. I believe this phrase can apply to people of all ages. Read more here
